The goal of this camp is to provide participants from diverse backgrounds an opportunity to explore their mathematical talents and taste higher level math and college life.
Q: What are the benefits of attending this camp (Highlights)?
1. You will learn higher level math topics that are not part of regular school curricula, with math professors.
2. You will explore future career & university pathways through Math career talks and UBC & SFU Undergraduate Admissions Presentations
3. You will interact with undergraduate students who are studying STEM majors.
4. You will have the chance to win prizes that worth more than $50, depending on your participation and activities, at the end of the camp.
Q: Where will the summer camp be hosted?
Online
Q: How long is this camp? When does it start and finish?
It’s a two-week program. It starts on August 4th (Tues) and finishes on August 14th (Fri). However, you can choose to attend one week only, or both, when you register for this camp.
Q: Application fee?
There is no application fee. You can simply submit the online application that takes you about 5 minutes to complete.
Q: Registration fee?
The registration fee is $25 for one week and $35 for two. There is the possibility of winning prizes worth more than $50 at the end of the camp.
Q: Eligibility?
You must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident who completed BC Pre-calculus 10 or an equivalent or a higher level math course with the letter grade of at least a B.
Q: Are international students welcome to apply?
You can apply only if you have permanent residency or Canadian citizenship.
Q: Are students outside of BC welcome to apply?
Yes, you are welcome to apply. However, make sure you can adjust to the Pacific Time Zone, in case you have a time difference.
Q: When is the deadline for application?
July 10th, 2020.
Q: When will I know the admissions result?
If you are accepted, you will be contacted on or before July 17th, 2020. You will receive information about the next step: registration.
Q: Is the number of participants limited? How competitive is the application process?
This year, we are really trying our best to expand this program. Please apply with no hesitation if you are interested.
